My Vermont Place is located at:
Mountain Ponds, Wilmington VT.
It is three miles from the town of Wilmington, located on Haystack golfcourse and on the edge of the VAST Snowmobile trails. It is 7 miles to Mount Snow Ski Resort. The townhouse is ideally situated to take advantage of Vermont's numerous outdoor activities in all four seasons.

In Winter:

A winter wonderland awaits... The Haystack Golf Course is just feet away from the backdoor and provides a great place to cross country ski, snowshoe and go sledding. If you are more inclined toward snowmobiling there is easy access to the VAST snowmobile trails. Of course the biggest draw to the area is Southern Vermont's largest ski and snowboard resort Mount Snow. Taking the backroads allows you to bi-pass the town traffic, so that you can cover the 7 miles to the hill in 10 minutes allowing you to sleep in and still get to the hill for early tracks.

In Spring:

When the mountains thaw, and the first signs of spring begin to peek through, its time to hike, bike and kayak, or shop the outlets in Manchester. But watch out forl "mud season".

In Summer:

This time of year can be great, especially if you like to mountain bike, golf, hike, play tennis, fish, kayak and/or go for a spin on your motorcycle. Did I mention the golf course is just feet away, you can walk to the clubhouse and work on perfecting your stroke. And unlike in the NYC area, you can actually just show up and go play 9 or 18 holes, no tee times necessary and at half the price of what you'd expect near home. The days get hot, but in the evening you never need air conditioning. The skies are clear and full of stars and its a great time to perfect your barbequing skills. Also summer bring local activities like the Wilmngton weekend flee market, and the Garlic festival to name two.

In Fall:

The famous fall foliage is a spectacle not to be missed. Usually the peak time in the Wilmington area is from mid-September to the first or second weekend in October. But all depends on the weather and when the first frost comes. What better way to watch the leaves then with the backdrop of covered bridges, white steeple churches and all that a Vermont Fall brings to mind. For those active sorts, typically the golf course is still open (weather permitting), hiking can be magnificient, antiquing is always an option and how about just sitting by the fireplace. The golf course also provides a beautiful area to walk and jog in late fall after the golfers have gone.
