SKI PLACES:
Mount Snow (http://www.mountsnow.com/)
(6 miles away)
Mt Snow has three different hills – The first one you come to is Corinthia on the right (this is now the snowboarding part of the mountain), the next is Sundance, and the third is the Main Lodge of the mountain. If you have a group of highly varied skiers/boarders or need rental equipment I would recommend going to the Main Lodge, but then you will have to walk a bit or take the shuttle - Corinthia often has best parking and access without the crowds.
Stratton (http://www.stratton.com/) 35-40 minute drive
MOVIES:
Mountain Park Cinema (Near Mt Snow) Route 100 North - Mountain Park Plaza, West Dover, VT, USA - (802) 464-6447
Latchis Theater (plays independent and main run films but 20 min drive away)
48 Main Street, Brattleboro, VT, USA - (802) 246-1500
WINTER ACTIVITIES:
Tubing: The tubing now seems to be limited to Mount Snow -
Snowmobiling:
VAST Trail information (visit there site for trails, and other info).
High Country snowmobile tours and more for those without their own snowmobiles.
GROCERY SHOPPING:
Your choice is limited, there is Shaw's off Route 100 going towards Brattleboro, the only real grocery store. ½ mile from the central light in town. There is also a nice gourmet type market out on Rte 100 towards the skiing (Adams Farm turn off right before market) called Riverbend Market . It has a nice butcher, gourmet materials and NYC prices.
BREAKFAST PLACES:
Dot’s Diner: right in town this is a popular spot you may have to wait. The food is good and hearty. If you have a big group you are likely to get faster seating at Dots 2 up near Mt. Snow on Rte 100 (in the complex where the movie theater is). It doesn't have the atmosphere but the food is still good.
For pancakes I recommend the Cup and Saucer on Rte 100 (Great pancakes – really weird seating arrangement (U shaped counters – not great for a large group).
LUNCH/ DINNER & A BEER:
Maple Leaf Brewery – good burgers, sandwiches and beer.
Finnegan's is a new place as of Winter 2008. Has outside deck seating in the summer. Haven't been there so can't offer a personal recommendation.
Vermont house is a good place for lunch, normal burger and sandwich fare, although decor is ugh.
Jezebel's is a good place to get a sandwich or ice cream, but hope you are not in a hurry.
For Upscale food there isn't much I can recommend and I have tried them all at one point or another - Two Tannery Road, located on Tannery Road (Road right before Corinithia hill), the place has a history of Teddy Roosevelt having come there, yada, yada, yada... food was good.
The Hermitage is in the process of making a comeback - but I haven't been there since it has re-opended. The Red Inn in town has a good salad bar typically, and the Atlantic House is a seafood place with decent fare even though I don't think of Vermont for seafood.

WILMINGTON SHOPPING:
Cute places in town to shop– Pickwell’s barn, The Romantic, the Gallery (on Rte 100 away from Mt Snow direction), Manyu's
Liquor store is just as you enter town on right (grey building next to basket shop)
NEARBY TOWNS are...
Wilmington (3 miles) a couple of restaurants and stores (see recommendations)
Brattleboro (18 miles) – kind of a hippy town (great sporting good’s store in town SAMS – no relation to Walmart Sams). Also a couple of wine bars and some decent restaurants, Has an art gallery night first Friday of every month and the local cafes and studios show the art many have wine and munchies. This town is great for bookstores, art galleries and small shops, and the coffee shop Mocha Joes is a must.
Bennington (15 miles) – not much goes on here even though it is a college town. There are a few shops in town worth seeing but overall it will take you 2 hours tops. There is the museum up the road, the bennington memorial and...
Manchester (45 minute drive) - Has a great bookstore, some outlet shopping which is very hit or miss (Coach outlet, Polo, Garnet Hill, Armani, Burberry, Banana Republic)
